Flowers for deflowering

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, they say. Both Rosa and Daniel seem to agree on what they behold. Clipped from here.

Knitted anatomy...brain

Even more amazing than the knitted digestive system, is the knitted brain. Actually, even more amazing is the website I took it from: The Museum of Scientifically Accurate Fabric Brain Art. I kid you not. Definitely worth a look if you are one of the world's three or four fabric brain afficionados. (I guess I count.)

Wishes for wellness

It seems strange that a disease as devastating as breast cancer can be so beautiful. A friend finds out today if breast cancer has spread to her lymph nodes. All our very best wishes go out to her. Hope she beats it.

Nabataean city of Petra

I watched a PBS program on the Dead Sea a few days ago and was fascinated by this city of Petra which was a thriving urban center for Nabataeans since some time BC. The city fell to ruins in the 4th c apparently. I would love to see it. It's spectacular in these photos...it must be breathtaking in real life. I am especially captivated by the way they carved the city right into the rocks, their ingenious and extensive water collecting and channeling systems and the beauty that age and weathering have created in the stone. These pictures were clipped from here and here and here and here.

Lego Art

I love this site at the Walker Gallery website. You can see many lego art pictures depicting the vernissages of real life modern art works. Here are Catellan's Hanging Horse, Craig-Martin's Tree and Dali's Lobster Phone. Links at the site will take you to the real pieces.

Excerpts from The Brick Testament. Never was there a more entertaining way to read The Word!
